Grand Canyon West Rim

Pierce Ferry Road To Diamond Bar Road

The Basics

The West Rim is an ideal day trip destination from Las Vegas, Nevada. Hike the area, visit the Western-style Hualapai Ranch for food and themed activities, or step onto the famous Grand Canyon Skywalk—a glass bridge near Guano Point that allows visitors to see the Colorado River flowing 4,000 feet (1,219 meters) beneath their feet. The West Rim is a popular destination for helicopter tours from Las Vegas, which give travelers a bird’s-eye view of the canyon and nearby attractions such as the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. For a special treat, opt for a sunset helicopter tour that includes Champagne. Bus tours from Vegas offer a different perspective and sometimes also include a visit to Joshua Tree National Park.

Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour from Las Vegas with Optional Upgrades
John was our tour guide and he was the best. He was prompt with pick up. We were the first guest to board the bus which was clean spacious and comfortable. The tour time was 3 hours and just the right amount of time to see all the sites. Our family added the sky walk option which was amazing. Great experience for all of Us.

Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour & Hoover Dam Photo Stop with Optional Skywalk
Anthony was our tour guide and Carlos was our driver. My husband and I are in our 70's and can't do a lot of walking. They went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great as they took care of our entire bus. The bus was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

I was very impressed with this day trip. Our guide, Eion, and our bus driver Bernice gave excellent service during the excursion. The bus was comfy and clean, trip was was well organized and guests were informed of the itinerary. The breakfast and lunch served was also better than expected. Eion’s tips and suggestions for Vegas were informative and helped pass the time during the drive to our destinations. Great trip!!!!!!

Grand Canyon Deluxe Helicopter Tour from Las Vegas
The helicopter ride was great. The shuttle ride was timely and professional. The only issue were the mask. You got some people choosing not to wear masks properly. That has to be enforced for the safety of others. Another thing is a longer stop at the canyon would've made it a little better.

Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, 7 Magic Mountains Small Group Day Tour from Las Vegas
I really enjoyed my day trip with Paul. He was enthusiastic and took great photos. When things did not go well at the Grand Canyon, Paul did all he could to show he cared. He was also very informative. It is a long day though. I also wish there were more options for lunch.

History of the West Rim

Although the Hualapai Indian Reservation was created in 1883, the Grand Canyon West Rim area wasn’t developed until 1988, when 2,100 members of the Native American tribe decided to open their ancestral lands to visitors. In addition to its stunning viewpoints, the area now offers white water rafting, scenic hiking trails, and rustic lodging to travelers.
