One of the largest bodies of water in Italy, Lake Como's best sights vary with the time of year you visit. On this tour, travel with a guide to discover the highlights of the area around the lake with an itinerary tailored to the season. Food and drinks are at your own expense throughout the day.

Winter Tour: (November to March)

Relax on the morning journey from Milan to Lake Como. Hop out to stretch your legs on a tour of Como, the lake’s main town, and learn about its key sights around the historic center. From town, take the gondola to the village of Brunate, a serene spot in the hills above Como.

Gaze down at the lake, flanked by the Rhaetian Alps, and then make the most of some free time for lunch. Return to Como by gondola before the highlight of your day: a Lake Como boat tour. The water offers the best vantage point to see the lake and shorelines; keep an eye out for chic villas and luxury hotels as you cruise. Cernobbio’s opulent Villa d'Este hotel is one such sight with its grandiose façade and tropical gardens.

After your return to shore, enjoy some free time to see the sights at your own pace, shop or perhaps sip a coffee. Then, finish your time in Como with a visit to the Basilica of Sant’Abbondio, a Romanesque-style 11th-century church, before your return to Milan.

Summer Tour: (April to October)

After your coach journey from Milan, start your tour of Como with a look inside two of its historical attractions: the Basilica of Sant’Abbondio. Continue into Como’s historic center, and use your free time to get to know the town at your own pace with some sightseeing or shopping for Lake Como keepsakes.

Meet back with your guide for a scenic cruise around Lake Como, admiring the hillside villas and hotels, and pose for photos against the backdrop of the alps.

Return to dry land in time for your trip to the colorful seaside town of Bellagio, which many pinpoint as a highlight of the lake. Spend some time at your leisure here to explore and perhaps savor lunch. Later, cruise to Cadenabbia, then return to your coach for the journey back to Milan.

Traveler Tips

  • "Don’t ask for any assistance such as directions, taxis, etc." See review
  • "Be aware: the tour leaves Milan at 8.30am and doesn't arrive in Bellagio (which is where lunch is suggested) until after 2pm so to make the most of your visit to Bellagio buy something to eat on the boat." See review
  • "The lack of public conveniences in this part of Italy was inconvenient, and given their was no toilet on the coach, it would be useful if the guides had pointed out that facilities are provided on the ferries." See review

An easy way to visit Lake Como from Milan
, Aug 2021
A wonderful way to visit Lake Como! It was very convenient getting picked up in Milan. This tour is easily influenced by weather- it was raining when we visited but we still got to see all the sites and go on the boat ride. Prepare to spend some time on the boat and get food at Bellagio. Great tour guide and organized experience!
Great, easy trip

Wonderful trip with lots of free time to explore and do what you want to do. Not too strenuous, we didn’t want anything with too much walking, but we were able to see and enjoy so much!
Thumbs Up

My family and I absolutely loved this tour! Marco was a great tour guide and very informative. You’re offered a lot of free time to explore on your own which is very nice. Would definitely recommend!
A beautiful day in paradise
, Jul 2021
I had no idea that there were so many people living along Lake Como's towns and hillsides. Beautiful colors and multiple different styles of homes - some with boat docks. Enjoyed the time in both Como and Bellagio - there was time to relax and have a coffee and then lunch in Bellagio. It's a long day but worthwhile to be able to see all of this beauty. Very knowledgeable, bi-lingual guide.
Not Worthy the Money

Hello, The boat ride was short, the explanations was not so clear. as they kept switching from English to Italian. trip not worth 79 Euros.

Beautiful Lake Como

Excellent tour from start to finish. What a beautiful place to visit. The guide was superb and gave us lots of interesting information. Highly recommend this tour.
Good but not great
, Feb 2020
The toilet on the bus didn't work - there were no comfort breaks planned into the tour so this needs to be changed. Also audio quality very poor, seems to suffer from lack of signal transmitter strength as okay when in close range. Tour guide very helpful and informative. Boat trip and train ride was awesome.
English tour was also a Spanish tour!
, Feb 2020
I was surprised to find our tour was both in English and Spanish. I would probably have picked a different tour had I known this. Both groups get shortchanged and only get about half of the commentary they would otherwise receive. Now that I have taken this tour, next time I will take the train from Milan to Lake Como and take the Lake Como ferry and funicular on my own. It will be much cheaper and I will have more flexibility with how I spend my time instead of being driven by the logistics of handling 50 people from one huge bus. The one big plus was the handing out of the Lake Como map. With this map, I could find all the sites I wanted to see in the limited time I had on my own.
Worth It

The time in the city and the boat tour were wonderful. The lift to the top of the mountain had a long wait and the visibility was not very good. Sara the tour guide was very pleasant. Overall great day.
