Black Forest and Rhine Falls Day Trip from Zurich

Tour was cancelled last minute. I got a full refund but I had already gone all the way to Zurich for the tour to only find out it was cancelled upon arrival. They said they tried to call me the day before but I had no calls or emails about the cancellation. I ended up going to the Rhine Falls on my own... took the train from Zurich HB. However since I actually never got to do the tour, I have nothing to give feedback on.

Ok tour if you just wanna visit Black Forest from Zurich and you're pressed for time. I enjoyed the Rhine Falls experience however, I felt that a big chunk of the time was spent for the shopping. Our tour guide Ana did not give us any background about the places we will visit. She was more enthusiastic about bringing the group to the place where the clock demo would be held. Just a tip, if you are not into cuckoo clocks, do not follow the tour guide in the place where the clock demo will be head. Skip it and just explore the place on your own. You will know where to meet the group when it's time to leave the place anyway. The back forest cake is a must try.

I had received message that my trip was confirmed but when I reached the pick up point, I was told that the tour cannot take place because there was not enough number of people.

To go by boat near the Rhine Falls was an interesting experience. However not included, but for an extra expense. The next stop, at the Titlii sea i Germany, offered only a street with tourist items. And no visit to a factory that makes the clocks that makes the town an attraction. Only a lady at a counter, who in five minutes explained how these clocks are made. Moreover, the guide on the tour was mostly silent, she had not much information to offer, so the trip (which lasted many hours in a mini-bus) was utterly boring. Worst of all was the driver, an old man who probably has made the trip a hundred times, and who drove terribly fast in the mountains, sick-sacking as he now and again ran over on the opposite file. He was not even fully concentrated on his driving, since he was continuously talking to the guide (who sat in a seat next to him). It was a terribly frightening experience, and one that really made me angry since he "had my life in his hands". I was not the only passenger who reacted. Others too drew sights of relief when we finally reached Zürich again. "We made it!", one of them exclaimed as the bus stopped. I particularly want to point out this part of the tour. As Your guest, one is not paying for being frightened for one's life. As a compensation, Viator ought actually to give us all our money back.

We had a great time. Our tour guide Raymond was very helpful, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. Driver Richard was very nice as well. Thanks for such an amazing and funfilled day..

Guide was very unfriendly and bitchy, not very knowledgable, but trip was on time, well organised, driver was good, drove smoothly

Perfect amount of time to get to both places in one day. Definitely choose the boat ride at Rhine Falls....waterfall is breath taking.

Visit to the sites were beautiful, but the guide was rather boring. Having been on many tours like this, we usually have guides who explain and have things to say along the way. Expect a quiet journey with some information along the way and you will be left on your own to figure out and guide yourself at the sites.

Anna is an amazing tour guide! She is friendly and detailed with a good sense of humour. She is also patient with troublemakers in the tour group. The driver is polite and an expert with sharp turns. We had a pleasant and smooth journey thanks to him. Highly recommended!!

I did enjoy this time in black fiorest and also time at Rhine waterfalls. Both placescwere excellent. Wish I could have had more time at both places but that I would make the tour longer. The bus route took up 4 of the 7 hours but was a an enjoyable ride.
