Independent Bernese Oberland and Jungfrau Region Day Trip from Zurich

Interlaken and Grindewald were absolutely beautiful! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made sure that we were informed on all of the details of the trip. I would recommend for anyone looking for a guided tour, specifically those who are unfamiliar with the country.

The sceneries were amazing! Must visit! Our time in Interlaken was very short. Another hour there would have been great. Our time allowance in Grindelwald was too much, 2 hours less would have been better. Maybe adding a third city in the tour would make it perfect.

Worth the money spent. Travel guide was knowledgeable and voiced us through main attractions during the trip.

In a 2.5 month European vacation, this was our only disappointment. We had a good time IN SPITE OF the tour operator. To start, there was only one person checking everyone in for multiple buses and no one else would answer questions. The tour guide was not very friendly as she acted as if we should already know the answer to our questions. She acted as if she had answered the same question a hundred times over the years and was no long interested in making it clear. On the bus, orders were given rather than requests or fun instructions. We were on the trip to Interlaken and Grindewald but not to the top of the mountains. We were treated like second class tourists to those going to the top. We were dropped off at the train station in Grindewald, handed a train ticket back to Interlaken and a lame map. We were not given any instructions or ideas on where to go or what to see. We asked the driver where we were on the map so we could find our way back to the train station and all he would say is come back to this train station to return to Interlaken. I don't think he spoke English, or was just rude. We linked up with another couple from the tour who had the same frustrations and we found a gondola that went half way up the mountain. With that ride and what we researched on our own, we salvaged a fun day out of it.

The tour guide Peter was fantastic. He is experienced and knowledgeable. We were well informed all the time. Everyone else in the bus took the full package which guided them to the top of mountains, but we didn't and our package was this Independent Bernese Oberland and Jungfrau Region Day Trip From Zurich, so we were dropped off at Grindelwald around 12noon, and we were handed the train tickets to Interlaken, so we would take the train to Interlaken by ourselves and meet up with the rest of the group at Interlaken at 5:45pm. At Grindelwald, we wanted to take a cable car to First to catch the nice scenery, but it was still closed, as it was still considered the winter period. So, we took the train to Interlaken, and we took a cable car to Harder Kulm. It was open luckily. We were able to see the very nice scenery of the whole Interlaken. There is a restaurant at Harder Kulm, so we had lunch up there, too. For the rest of time, we were just sitting and resting at a cafe. Some people might find this time boring but we enjoyed this non-rushing relaxing moment, too It was an enjoyable, safe, efficient touring day we had. If it is your very first time in Zurich / Switzerland and you are not sure how things work there, the tour is definitely suitable for you. If you take this independent tour, it is recommended to visit First at Grindelwald and also Harder Kulm at Interlaken during the free time. Overall we were satisfied with the tour.

This tour would probably be great in a later month. First of all, we did not know that the tour we purchased did not include the train ride to the top of the region. As it turned out, we loved the time we spent in Interlaken. Another thing people need to understand is that Grimmelwald is dead until May. Nothing is open and it is a waste of time to spend any time there. Basically - Interlaken is beautiful and a wonderful place to visit.

Bus departed at 8am from bus station with a first stop in Interlaken after 2 hours journey. After 45 minutes spending there it made its journey further to Grindenwald. Then tour guide provided us with train tickets back to Interlaken, explained about meeting point and left us on our own. Both places are very spectacular with a breathtaking view and definitely worth a visit. However, we found that 12 hours tour is too long as there was too much of excess time for these towns and first stop in Interlaken doesn't make sense as we were back here in the afternoon again. To enhance it I would reduce its length and change deportation time to 10am.

We spent time in Grindelwald and then took the train to Interlaken. We got off the train in Wilderswil as my wife had stayed there years earlier. We spent some time there and then walked to Interlaken. We had plenty of time to do what we wanted.

I love this tour. We visited Interlaken and Grindelwald. The time was more than enough to enjoy the place and took a lot oh photos.
